This Christmas, we popped along to our neighbours at Charnwood Nursery in Rothley to ask for the children’s help in painting some extra special Christmas baubles for our Christmas trees. It was a messy morning, but super cute and the children did an excellent job personalising the baubles.
The Nordmann Fir trees, which were sourced locally from Woodcock Farm in Rothley, took centre stage at the festivals in Loughborough and Barrow, looking resplendent with the hand decorated ornaments, representing the festive spirit and community ties that Broadnook is keen to grow – not only within its own boundaries but also with the surrounding villages.
The Loughborough Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints With Holy Trinity Church runs until the end of December.
Stephanie King, Sales Director at Davidsons Homes, shared:
“Our first Christmas at Broadnook is extra special, as we celebrate the arrival of our first residents and work alongside neighbouring communities to share the festive joy. Partnering with Charnwood Nursery to create these beautiful Christmas decorations has been a joyous experience.”
As the first families move into their new homes at Broadnook, this inaugural Christmas is not just a seasonal celebration—it’s the start of a festive tradition that will grow with the community. By partnering with the parishes of Loughborough and Barrow upon Soar, Broadnook is reinforcing its commitment to being a connected and collaborative village, focused on building relationships with its neighbours.
Iona O’Carroll, Broadnook Community Trust, said:
“This year’s Christmas celebrations are incredibly special as we mark the start of life at Broadnook Garden Village with our first residents. We’re also proud to partner with two of our neighbouring villages, demonstrating how community and collaboration are at the heart of our ethos. “
